About us
Hi, we are Andrea and Leo.
We come from Argentina - a country that knows empanadas well. Argentina is not only the gateway to Antarctica, but also the land of Malbec wine, steak, football - the real one - the Pope’s homeland, and a country shaped by one of the largest waves of European immigration after World War II.
All of this came together to create the country we were born into: a place full of flavor, passion, history, and immigrant roots.
We are often asked, “Why did you leave everything and come here?” The answer is simple: we wanted a better future for our daughter.
You may also ask, “Why couldn’t Argentina offer that future?” The long answer could go on forever, but the short answer is this: it can take up to 50 years to fix a country. That may be a short time in the life of a nation, but it can be a lifetime for a person.
In 2000, we made the decision to move. Our daughter was only 11 years old at the time. Just the three of us packed our whole lives into six suitcases. We brought our culture with us, but we also carried the map to our dreams. Here, we immersed ourselves in a new culture, tasted new flavors, and even learned a new kind of football.
We started our dream on our own five-yard line, like in American football. From there, we decided we would do everything possible to reach the goal line. We took every job opportunity that came our way and never gave up. Our journey took us from California to Utah, and finally to Colorado.
Colorado became our home away from home. Our love for the mountains, snow, and skiing eventually led us to a commercial center in Silverthorne. One day, we saw a space with a sign that said, “Space for Lease.” Soon after, we decided to refinance our home and open our restaurant.
We chose to do what we know best and what we truly love.
And, like we said before, we come from the place that knows empanadas best. We wanted to share those flavors and traditions with everyone, because the best moments in life are spent with friends and family — sharing a good meal, telling stories, and gathering around the table.
